7th Appointment - 27 weeks

Date of appointment : 23 January 2006.

It was a real lengthy appointment today. The appointment time was at 0830hrs. Lina wasn't supposed to eat any food from 12 midnight the night before. There's going to be 2 bouts of urine and blood test. Its one crucial diabetes test to be done in Lina's 3rd trimester as pregnant women have a higher tendency to develop diabetes during this period.

Well, Douglas's nurse was late, she arrived at 0845hrs. After settling down to start her day, the nurse got Lina to get her urine sample, thereafter, her blood sample. After the two samples were taken, Lina was given a bottle of what I thought to be glucose fluid. It wasn't quite Lina's taste though, she had no choice but to finish the bottle. By then it was already 0910 hrs. We were told to come back to the clinic at 1030hrs to see Douglas and the 2nd urine cum blood sampling is scheduled at 1115hrs.

We walked across the block to Lucky Plaza where I had my breakfast at Killiney Kopitiam. Too bad Lina was not supposed to eat any food. So I had to have breakfast alone while she sat opposite me, looking at me enjoying my breakfast, drool coming out from the sides of her mouth. Yak yak yak. =p

Ok ok, the last part about her drooling wasn't true. Just making fun of her.

After breakfast, it was 0945hrs. We took a walk to CK Tangs, but it was not open until 1030hrs. We wandered around for a while, and I decided we should just go back to the clinic and wait since there's a comfortable couch in the clinic.

We had to wait for Douglas till 1110hrs. He was delayed at he was at the operating theatre. When he arrived, he did a quick scan for Lina, went through some data collected from previous tests, replenished whatever pills Lina needed. He told us his clinic at Bukit Panjang Plaza has shifted to Ten Mile Junction. So our next appointment with him will be at Ten Mile Junction.

After seeing Douglas, the nurse got Lina's 2nd urine and blood sample. And we are free to go! But not before paying, though. Hehe.

We had a sumptous lunch, well, its brunch for me and breakfast for Lina, at Paragon's Din Tai Fung.

The next day, the nurse called Lina and told her that her urine and blood test results were negative. So that's good news!
