Pre-consultation motions over and done with.
Douglas looked like a panda. Really. He's got dark circles around his eyes. He must be so tied up with his work. But nevertheless, he's still cheerful and chirpy, and we both appreciated that very much.
Lina caught the flu virus and she's feeling bad. Runny nose, blocked nose, phlegm, cough, all the works... And the need to relieve her bladder has increased in frequency dramatically.
Douglas ordered up the necessary medications, and off with the scan.
Our baby is about 9cm today. Approximately 15 weeks old. The spinal cord is nicely formed. Visible tiny little hands and feet. We can see it fidgeting around on the monitor screen.
"So, you expecting a boy or a girl?" Douglas asked Lina while he got the scan under way.
"I have no idea. But I have the feeling that it's going to be a boy."
"Why ? Are you under pressure to have a boy?"
Lina laughs and said, "No, but we were like expecting to have a girl."
Douglas's fingers flew over the console, tapping different keys in succession, the image on the screen was zoomed larger and focused. Then he confidently announced, "Well, its a girl. Confirmed. 100%"
Lina and me both grinned.
Next, payment. We decided to start on the package so we'd have to pay 50% of the package price today. Lina also opted to do the blood test (Ante-Natal and Triple blood test) today. I guessed she'd feel that if she has to do it, she'd rather get it over and done with asap.
Her folic acid pills and vitamin pills required replenishing so those, including the medication for flu, phlegm and antibiotic, ante-natal blood test, triple blood test, consultation and package deposit, the total cost came to 11 hundred bucks. -phew-
