Just last Sunday, Lina and I were doing some shopping for her maternity clothes. We went to Suntec for this trip.
We came across Kids' Mall, they carry a huge range of products ranging from maternity clothes, to baby strollers, prams, travel systems to baby cots, beds, play-pens and changing table.
Gee, these stuffs don't come cheap. The simplest designed pram easily cost over a hundred bucks! -phew- One baby cot cum bed cum play-pen cost 1 bucks shy of being a full grand!
Fortunately, next month's salary includes my year-end bonus. Hopefully, the government would be so kind as to bestow on us a better than average bonus, in view of the upcoming election.
Lina and I kinda like shortlisted a few different prams/strollers, their cost averaging from 300 to 600 bucks. I prefer the huge wheel types while Lina feels otherwise. -Grin- guess that's natural, eh ?
After Kids' Mall, we moved on to a fashion shop selling Maternity clothes. Spring Maternity. Each item cost a minimum of 40 bucks. Lina bought 2 sets of clothes. Well at least some kind friends gave her some vouchers to defray the cost.
Then we came to a shop, Crosscom. Woo-wee! We came across a futuristic looking baby pram. The sales person introduced it as a German product. Has four huge wheels, the baby seat can be orientated to face the front or rear, whichever way we like. The height and angle of tilt of the seat could also be adjusted. It can also "transform" into a 2 wheel walker for moving up and down stairs with much ease.
The time came for us to ask "how much?". Right on cue, we asked that question, and the answer almost caused me to fall flat on my face. Its a WHOPPING SGD 1800.00 !!! Lina went "HAH?" and I bared my teeth and we walked off, rivulets of sweat appearing on my forehead.
I spoke to several of my colleagues, asking them to guess the price of this "Super Pram" and all of them guessed close to only a thousand bucks. I literally screamed "Its 1800 bucks!" and they all had ONE same reply, "Siao!" (crazy in Hokkien)
Haha, its something to remember. Such adrenalin-pumping answers are hard to come by these days. -wink-
